Pool & Landscape Projects for Dubai Villas

The portfolio above shows completed Halo outdoor work. Because individual client scope and community details are not published without verification, the project notes describe the design-and-build challenges each transformation type resolves rather than inventing addresses or outcomes.

01

New Pool & Garden Integration

Challenge: A new pool affects circulation, levels, drainage, planting and entertainment zones. Halo approach: Coordinate the pool, deck, shade, lighting and landscape as one buildable composition.

02

Existing Pool & Landscape Renewal

Challenge: An older pool can feel disconnected from the garden and villa. Halo approach: Assess the shell and systems, then align finishes, coping, hardscape and planting within one renovation scope.

03

Outdoor-Living Transformation

Challenge: The garden lacks shade, privacy or functional entertainment space. Halo approach: Plan pergolas, seating, planting, lighting, irrigation and optional outdoor-kitchen elements around daily use.

Complete Pool & Landscaping Services in Dubai

Select a complete transformation or the specialist scope your existing outdoor space needs. Every service is coordinated against the villa, site levels and wider technical requirements.

Custom swimming pool with integrated villa landscaping in Dubai

Custom Swimming Pool Design & Construction

Halo plans and builds custom family pools, plunge pools, infinity-edge concepts and pools with integrated spa or jacuzzi zones. Every swimming pool building stage — excavation, shell, waterproofing, plumbing, filtration, tiling, coping and underwater lighting — is delivered through one coordinated programme. Each proposal responds to the villa plot, circulation, views and intended use instead of forcing a standard pool shape into the garden.

  • Swimming pool building and waterproofing
  • Filtration, plumbing and lighting

Swimming Pool Renovation & Upgrades

An existing pool can often be transformed without starting again. We assess the shell, waterproofing interfaces, finishes and equipment before recommending retiling, coping replacement, filtration upgrades, new lighting, layout adjustments or jacuzzi integration. The renovation is then coordinated with the surrounding deck and landscape so the finished pool feels part of one outdoor design rather than an isolated repair.

  • Retiling, coping and waterproofing
  • Equipment and layout upgrades

Landscape Design Dubai

Landscape design starts with the way the outdoor space needs to work. Halo plans arrival, garden zones, poolside movement, seating, shade, privacy, views and the connection back to the villa. Planting and material direction are developed alongside the hardscape, lighting and irrigation requirements, giving villa owners a coordinated design that can be costed and delivered by the same project team.

  • Site planning and outdoor zoning
  • Planting and material direction
Hardscape pool deck and outdoor flooring at a Dubai villa

Hardscaping & Outdoor Flooring

Pool decks, terraces, paths and steps must look refined while handling heat, water and frequent cleaning. We coordinate natural stone, exterior porcelain, decking and edge details around falls, drainage and wet-area safety. Material recommendations consider surface temperature, slip performance, colour stability and the junctions between pool coping, garden levels and villa thresholds.

  • Pool decks, terraces and paths
  • Heat and slip-aware specifications
Layered softscaping and climate-suitable planting around a villa pool

Softscaping & Planting

Trees, shrubs, groundcover and lawn are selected as a complete planting composition, not as a decorative afterthought. We consider shade, privacy, mature size, Dubai climate suitability, water demand and the maintenance the owner is comfortable with. Soil preparation and irrigation zones are coordinated with the planting plan so each area has a practical foundation for healthy growth.

  • Climate-appropriate planting
  • Privacy, shade and water planning
Pergola and shaded outdoor living space beside a villa pool

Pergolas, Shade & Outdoor Living

A successful Dubai garden needs comfortable shaded areas as well as an attractive pool. Halo designs pergolas, covered lounges, poolside seating and entertainment zones around sightlines, breeze, sun direction and the indoor-outdoor connection. Structural, electrical and finish details are coordinated early, helping the shade structure feel architecturally connected to the villa.

  • Pergolas and covered lounges
  • Poolside entertainment zones
Outdoor kitchen and BBQ area designed for a Dubai villa garden

Outdoor Kitchens & BBQ Areas

Outdoor kitchens require more than cabinetry placed outside. We coordinate the layout, durable finishes, worktops, storage, appliances, water, drainage, electrical loads and task lighting. Halo’s wider fit-out, joinery and MEP capability allows the BBQ or kitchen zone to be developed as a practical extension of the villa and the surrounding entertainment space.

  • Exterior cabinetry and worktops
  • MEP and appliance coordination
Landscape lighting and irrigation integrated into a Dubai villa garden

Landscape Lighting & Irrigation

Lighting and irrigation are planned together with the landscape rather than added after construction. Path, feature and pool-area lighting can be zoned with smart controls, while irrigation is divided around planting type and water demand. The technical scope also considers outdoor electrical protection, equipment access and routes that remain serviceable after the garden is complete.

  • Path, feature and pool lighting
  • Zoned, water-conscious irrigation

One Team for Your Complete Outdoor Transformation

Swimming pool building and garden transformation bring together structure, waterproofing, filtration, electrical work, drainage, irrigation, hardscape, planting and outdoor-living construction. Appointing them separately creates gaps at exactly the interfaces that matter most.

Halo coordinates integrated pool and landscape design as one turnkey outdoor project for Dubai villas.

Discuss Your Villa Transformation

Swimming pool building and water systems

Structure, waterproofing, filtration, plumbing, finishes and lighting are coordinated as one technical scope.

Landscape and outdoor living

Hardscape, planting, pergolas, kitchens, lighting and irrigation follow one spatial plan.

Civil and MEP coordination

Drainage, power, water routes, levels and villa interfaces are resolved before work overlaps on site.

Quality control and handover

One project structure coordinates sequencing, inspections, snagging and the final handover package.

Why Villa Owners Choose Halo for Pool Construction & Landscaping

One Accountable Project Team

Pool, civil, MEP and landscape work are coordinated under one scope, reducing gaps between specialist trades and giving the owner one point of project accountability.

Technical Capability Beyond Landscaping

Halo brings structural, waterproofing, MEP and property-transformation knowledge to the outdoor works, where technical interfaces often determine long-term performance.

Designed Around the Complete Villa

Outdoor decisions can be coordinated with the façade, glazing, interiors, automation and wider villa renovation instead of being designed in isolation.

Transparent Project Scope

Proposals define the intended scope, material direction and responsibilities so commercial comparisons and later decisions are clearer.

Quality-Controlled Delivery

Site coordination, stage reviews, progress communication and final snagging are managed through the same delivery structure.

Types of Swimming Pool We Build in Dubai

The pool type decides the engineering, the plant room and a large part of the budget, so it is settled early rather than late. New builds are covered under pool design and construction, and existing pools under pool renovation and upgrades.

Concrete (gunite or shotcrete)

Reinforced concrete sprayed over a rebar cage. The most common choice for Dubai villas because the shape, depth and edge detail are unconstrained, and because the shell can be engineered for the ground conditions on your plot.

Infinity and vanishing edge

One or more edges overflow into a catch basin so the water appears to meet the horizon. It carries a second structure, a balance tank and additional pump capacity, so it is decided at engineering stage rather than added later.

Plunge pools

Small, deep pools for cooling off in a compact garden or courtyard. Lower excavation and water volume, and easy to pair with heating or chilling for use across the whole year.

Lap pools

Long, narrow and set out for swimming rather than lounging. Usually planned along a boundary or the side of the villa, where the length is available without taking the whole garden.

Spas, hot tubs and spillovers

Built as part of the pool structure with a shared or independent plant set, or as a standalone unit. Heating, jets, blowers and controls are specified with the filtration package, not bolted on afterwards.

Indoor and covered pools

Usable year-round and protected from dust, but dependent on ventilation, dehumidification and condensation control. These are coordinated with the villa MEP scope rather than treated as an outdoor pool under a roof.

Saltwater and mineral systems

A chlorine generator produces sanitiser from salt, giving softer water and less chlorine odour. The chemistry still needs managing, and the equipment and fittings have to be specified for it from the start.

Natural and biologically filtered pools

Planted regeneration zones filter the water in place of a conventional chemical package. They need more surface area and a different maintenance regime, and they suit landscape-led plots rather than compact gardens.

Swimming Pool & Landscaping Cost in Dubai

Pool and landscape projects in Dubai generally fall within the ranges below. They are indicative market figures to help you plan, not a quotation — what your project actually costs depends on the plot, the ground conditions, the pool type and what you specify.

Swimming pool constructionFrom AED 80,000 to AED 1 million +
Pool renovation and resurfacingFrom AED 40,000 to AED 250,000 +

New swimming pool construction

Normally included
Excavation, reinforced concrete shell, waterproofing, plumbing and filtration, tiling or finish, coping, lighting and commissioning.
Normally excluded
Surrounding landscaping and decking, and ongoing maintenance after handover.
What moves the cost
Pool size and depth, pool type, ground conditions and access for machinery, and whether an infinity edge or balance tank is involved.

Pool renovation and resurfacing

Normally included
Strip-out of failed finishes, surface preparation, re-tiling or replastering, coping replacement and re-commissioning.
Normally excluded
Structural repair of the shell where the survey finds it, and equipment replacement.
What moves the cost
Condition of the existing shell, the finish specified, and whether the shape or edge detail changes.

Waterproofing and structural repair

Normally included
Leak investigation, crack and joint repair, membrane or tanking system, expansion joints and re-testing.
Normally excluded
Cosmetic finishes beyond the repaired areas, unless included in a renovation scope.
What moves the cost
Extent and cause of the failure, whether the water table or drainage is a factor, and the access needed to reach it.

Hard landscaping, decking and shade

Normally included
Levels and sub-base, paving, decking, steps and retaining, pergolas and shade structures, and outdoor kitchen builds.
Normally excluded
Loose furniture, and pool works priced under a separate band.
What moves the cost
Plot size, level changes and retaining, material selection — porcelain, stone or composite — and the span of any shade structure.

Soft landscaping, planting and irrigation

Normally included
Soil preparation, planting, turf, irrigation zoning and controls, and the establishment period after installation.
Normally excluded
Ongoing garden maintenance and seasonal replanting after handover.
What moves the cost
Planted area, plant size and maturity at installation, irrigation zoning, and how much soil has to be imported.

Lighting, water features and automation

Normally included
Underwater and landscape lighting, water features, heating or chilling, and pump, filter and dosing automation.
Normally excluded
Utility supply upgrades where the villa board cannot carry the additional load.
What moves the cost
Number of circuits and fittings, whether heating or chilling is specified, and the level of automation and remote control.
  • Every figure above is an indicative market range, not a quotation. Your number comes from a scope priced against your property.
  • Ranges are stated exclusive of VAT, which is applied at the prevailing UAE rate.
  • Design coordination and the running of community and authority approvals are included in Halo project scopes unless stated otherwise in your proposal.
  • A site assessment is required before we issue a price. Ground conditions, levels, drainage, access for machinery and — on a renovation — the true condition of the existing shell are the largest unknowns in any outdoor project.
  • Ongoing pool maintenance and garden upkeep after handover are quoted separately from the construction scope.

Our Pool & Landscape Design-Build Process

Consultation & Site Assessment

We discuss how you want to use the outdoor space, then review the plot, existing pool, access, levels and visible technical constraints.

Concept & Project Scope

You receive an initial direction covering pool, landscape zones, outdoor living priorities and the scope that needs further technical development.

Design & Technical Coordination

Layouts, materials, planting, lighting, irrigation, pool systems and key civil or MEP interfaces are coordinated into a buildable package.

Proposal & Approvals

The agreed scope is priced and the developer, community or authority requirements that apply to the property are identified and coordinated.

Construction & Installation

Pool works, hardscape, services, shade structures, planting and finishing are sequenced through one project programme and site team.

Quality Review & Handover

The completed work is inspected and snagged, systems are reviewed, and the owner receives a clear handover of the finished outdoor space.

How Long Does a Pool and Landscape Project Take?

A complete pool and landscape project in Dubai typically runs 5 to 9 months from first visit to handover. The phase durations below are the ranges we plan against — the ground conditions, the approvals required, access for machinery and material lead times decide where your project falls. You get a dated programme once the site has been assessed.

  1. Consultation and site assessment
    1 – 2 weeks

Site visit, levels and access survey, existing services, and the community rules that apply.

  2. Design, engineering and scope
    3 – 6 weeks

Concept layouts, structural and MEP design, material direction and a costed scope you can sign off.

  3. Approvals and procurement
    4 – 8 weeks

Community and authority submissions, plus ordering long-lead equipment, stone and plant material.

  4. Construction and installation
    10 – 20 weeks

Excavation, shell, waterproofing, plant room, hardscape, shade structures, planting and finishes.

  5. Testing, commissioning and handover
    1 – 2 weeks

Leak and pressure testing, water balancing, systems commissioning, snagging and handover.

Phases overlap. Design and approvals usually run in parallel, and procurement starts before excavation finishes — the sum of the ranges above is not the project duration.

Your Outdoor Project Is Protected

Opening up your garden for a pool build is a question of trust. These are the commitments that sit around the work itself.

Written scope before mobilisation

A line-by-line scope and costed proposal is signed before any machinery arrives on your plot. Variations are agreed and priced in writing, so nothing appears for the first time on the final invoice.

Milestone-based payments

Payments are staged against defined, inspected milestones — shell, waterproofing, plant room, finishes — rather than calendar dates, so you are never paying substantially ahead of the work completed.

A named project manager

One person owns the project from excavation to commissioning, coordinates the civil, MEP and landscape trades, and is the number you call.

Licensed contractor with approval capability

Technical work is backed by qualified engineers with the capability to keep drawings, community NOCs and Dubai Municipality requirements moving alongside the build rather than behind it.

Testing, commissioning and snagging

The shell is leak-tested, the plant room is commissioned and the water balanced, and the whole project is snagged before handover — so defects are found and closed by us rather than by you at the first refill.

Reachable after handover

The project team remains contactable for defects once the pool and garden are in use. Halo has been trading in Dubai since 1996 and is not difficult to find.

Outdoor Spaces Designed for Dubai’s Climate

Dubai heat, UV, dust, humidity and intensive outdoor cleaning affect far more than plant selection. Materials, drainage, waterproofing, electrical protection and maintenance access all need to be considered before details are fixed.

We coordinate these practical requirements with the visual design so the pool and garden can be used, cleaned and serviced as intended.

Heat, UV and surface performance

Exterior materials are considered for heat retention, colour stability, wet-area grip and repeated exposure to strong sun.

Drainage and waterproofing interfaces

Falls, drains, pool edges, planters and villa thresholds need coordinated detailing so water moves where it should.

Plant and irrigation demand

Plant suitability, soil preparation, irrigation zoning and expected maintenance are reviewed together.

Protected and serviceable systems

Pool equipment, lighting controls, outdoor power and irrigation components must remain protected and accessible for future servicing.

We engaged Halo Interiors for a turnkey renovation project at our property in Dubai Creek Harbour. Halo handled the entire project including design, procurement, permits, and execution of the works. Halo worked to a tight deadline and delivered a stunning design, which they then implemented to a very high standard. The quality of execution was head and shoulders above anything else I have seen in Dubai, with attention to every detail and very thorough quality control. As a client, I also felt that Halo were very honest in our dealings and this really made a difference. The pricing was also competitive and fully transparent. I cannot recommend Halo highly enough.

I am so thankful Jason and Zishan from Halo for their help to conduct a property inspection and support us in how to handle a renovation project that went terribly wrong. If I could do things over again, I would have consulted with Halo prior to our renovation project and would have asked for their guidance and project management support. There are a lot of shady contractors in Dubai apparently and these guys are the only honest people you can rely on. I would give them 6 stars if I could!

Why Build a Pool and Landscape a Dubai Villa

An outdoor project is rarely only about how the garden looks. On most villas it is doing several jobs at once.

Increase property value

A well-built pool and a finished garden change both the resale position and the rental appeal of a villa, and the gap is widest in established communities where the plots are generous but the outdoor space was never developed.

Recover the plot you already own

Most Dubai gardens are handed over as bare ground. Zoning them into swimming, dining, shaded seating and planting is what turns unused square metres into rooms the family actually occupies.

Shade and heat management

Pergolas, planting, surface selection and orientation decide how many months of the year the garden is usable. Getting them right matters more here than almost any decorative choice.

Lower running costs

Modern variable-speed pumps, efficient filtration, LED lighting and zoned irrigation cut both the electricity and the water a pool and garden consume against older equipment.

Protect the structure

Correct waterproofing, drainage falls and planter detailing keep water away from the villa. Most expensive outdoor failures in Dubai start as a drainage or tanking detail nobody resolved.

Fit the garden to your life

An outdoor kitchen, a shaded majlis, a lap pool for morning swimming or a safe play area — the plot becomes specific to how the household actually uses it.

Pool and Landscape Approvals in Dubai

Approval requirements depend on the property type, community, developer, owners association, structural scope and utility modifications. Halo reviews what applies to the defined project; fixed approval periods are not promised before those requirements are confirmed.

Property and structural scope

A new pool, significant excavation, retaining conditions or changes near the villa can require additional technical information.

What to Check Before Hiring a Swimming Pool Contractor in Dubai

There are a lot of pool and landscaping companies in Dubai and the quotes rarely compare like for like. These are the six questions worth asking every one of them — including us.

Are they licensed to submit community and DM approvals?

An unlicensed contractor cannot submit for community NOCs or municipality approvals in your name, and a pool is rarely approvable without them.

Halo

Licensed contractor since 1996, with DM and DEWA approved technical capability and an in-house approvals team.

Is the shell engineered for your plot, or copied from a standard detail?

Ground conditions, water table and level changes differ plot to plot. A generic rebar and shell detail is where structural cracking starts.

Halo

Qualified engineers design the shell, reinforcement and levels against the survey of your specific site.

Who does the waterproofing, and what is the specification?

Waterproofing is the single most common pool failure in Dubai, and the cheapest place for a contractor to save money invisibly.

Halo

Waterproofing is specified in the scope, executed by our own team and leak-tested before finishes go on.

Is the filtration and MEP work handled in-house?

Subcontracted plant rooms are the usual cause of programme slippage and of commissioning problems nobody owns afterwards.

Halo

Plumbing, filtration, electrical and lighting run under the same project team and the same programme.

Are payments tied to completed milestones?

Front-loaded payment schedules leave you exposed if the contractor stalls with an open excavation in your garden.

Halo

Payments are staged against defined, inspected milestones rather than calendar dates.

Who commissions the pool, and what happens afterwards?

A pool that is handed over without balancing, testing and a documented handover becomes the owner’s problem at the first refill.

Halo

Leak testing, water balancing, systems commissioning and a full snagging round before handover, and we remain reachable for defects.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pool Construction & Landscaping

Straight answers to the questions Dubai villa owners ask before arranging a pool or landscape site assessment.

Yes. Halo can coordinate swimming pool building — structure and waterproofing, filtration and plumbing, pool finishes — alongside hardscape, planting, pergolas, outdoor kitchens, landscape lighting and irrigation through one project structure. The final scope is confirmed after the site assessment.

Yes, subject to the plot, access, utilities, structure and the approvals that apply to the property. We begin with a site assessment to understand the available area, levels, services and community requirements before defining a pool construction scope.

Yes. Pool renovation can include retiling, coping replacement, waterproofing repairs, filtration or lighting upgrades, layout modifications and better integration with the surrounding deck and landscape. The existing shell and equipment need to be assessed before the recommended work is confirmed.

Requirements vary by property, community, developer and scope. New pools, structural changes, excavation and utility modifications can involve community, developer or authority submissions. Halo identifies and coordinates the applicable requirements as part of the agreed project scope without promising a fixed approval period before the details are known.

A landscape design can cover site planning, outdoor zoning, pool integration, paths and terraces, material direction, shade, privacy, planting, lighting, irrigation and outdoor-living elements. The exact deliverables depend on the size and complexity of the project.

Swimming pool construction in Dubai generally runs from around AED 80,000 for a compact pool to AED 1 million and beyond for a large, engineered pool with an infinity edge, heating and integrated landscaping. That is an indicative market range rather than a quotation: cost depends on the pool size and shape, excavation and access, structural design, waterproofing system, finishes, filtration, lighting, heating or cooling requirements and the surrounding deck. A site assessment is the responsible starting point for a project-specific proposal.

The programme depends on design development, approvals, site access, excavation, structural work, material lead times and the extent of landscaping. Halo prepares a project programme after assessing the site and defining the scope; design and approvals can often progress in parallel where the property requirements allow.

Yes. Pool and landscape works can be coordinated with interiors, façades, glazing, MEP, automation and other villa renovation work. This is particularly useful where external levels, drainage, doors or utility routes affect both the villa and garden.

Halo considers villa pool and landscaping projects across Dubai. The community map covers ultra-luxury addresses such as Emirates Hills, Palm Jumeirah, District One, Jumeirah Islands, Al Barari and Jumeirah Bay Island, established communities including Jumeirah Golf Estates, Arabian Ranches, The Meadows, Jumeirah Park, Jumeirah and Umm Suqeim, and newer handover communities such as Tilal Al Ghaf, Dubai Hills Estate, Damac Hills, Arabian Ranches III, Nad Al Sheba Gardens and The Valley. Contact the team if your community is not listed so the location and site requirements can be reviewed.

Routine pool maintenance in Dubai typically runs from around AED 300 to AED 600 a month for a standard residential pool on a regular service visit, covering water testing and chemical balancing, skimming and brushing, filter cleaning and basic equipment checks. Larger pools, water features, heating or chilling systems and any deep cleaning, equipment repair or leak investigation sit outside that figure. It is an indicative market range rather than a Halo quotation — maintenance is priced against the pool once it has been inspected.

Water balance is the core of it — chlorine or salt-generated sanitiser, pH, alkalinity and stabiliser all need to stay within range, and in Dubai heat they move faster than owners expect. Alongside that: skimming and brushing, vacuuming the floor, emptying skimmer and pump baskets, backwashing or cleaning the filter, and periodic checks of the pump, chlorinator, heater or chiller and underwater lighting. Dust is the other local factor — an uncovered pool in a windy month needs more attention than the same pool in still weather.

Most residential pools in Dubai are serviced weekly, with water testing at every visit. Twice-weekly service is common in summer or where the pool is heavily used, gets significant dust, or has a water feature keeping the surface moving. Filter media, seals and pump components are checked on a longer cycle, and the whole system is worth a full inspection once a year.

Payments are staged against defined project milestones that have been inspected and signed off — typically excavation and shell, waterproofing, plant room and services, finishes, and handover — rather than against calendar dates. The specific schedule is set out in your proposal before work starts. We deliberately avoid heavily front-loaded schedules; they leave the client exposed if a contractor stalls with an open excavation in the garden.

Maintenance is quoted separately from the construction scope. Every project is commissioned, water-balanced and handed over with operating documentation so it can be maintained by us or by your own pool service company. Tell us at proposal stage if you want an ongoing arrangement included.
