A sophisticated contemporary master bathroom transformation in Palm Jumeirah, Dubai, designed around extensive marble stonework, a dramatic floating vanity, bespoke mirror detailing and carefully layered architectural lighting.
Book a Free Site VisitThe bathroom is defined by an impressive floor-to-ceiling marble feature wall, with expressive grey veining extending across the vanity elevation and adjoining surfaces. Large-format stone slabs create an almost continuous architectural backdrop, allowing the natural pattern of the material to become one of the principal design features of the room.
At the centre is a substantial floating dark stone double vanity, dramatically contrasting against the lighter marble behind it. Fine white veining across the dark surface adds movement and visual depth, while the suspended construction maintains an open floor plane and gives the vanity a lighter architectural appearance despite its substantial proportions.
The vanity incorporates twin basins with wall-mounted matte-black mixers, keeping the countertop visually clean while reinforcing the contemporary monochrome detailing. An open lower shelf provides neatly integrated towel storage beneath the vanity, combining practicality with a hospitality-inspired presentation.
Above the vanity, an oversized bespoke framed mirror is integrated directly into the marble elevation. Slim dark framing creates definition against the pale stone, while dedicated vertical wall lights provide balanced illumination around the grooming area. A wall-mounted magnifying mirror adds another functional detail to the vanity composition.
To the right, the marble wall continues into a dedicated display and dressing zone. Three sculptural gold-toned metal artworks are mounted directly against the stone, introducing warmth and movement to the otherwise neutral material palette.
A suspended cluster of opal-glass globe pendant lights provides a decorative lighting feature alongside the marble wall. The asymmetric composition softens the strong rectilinear architecture and complements the warmer metallic artwork.
The bathing area is positioned beside expansive glazing, with the edge of a built-in bathtub visible beneath the window. The bath surround continues the light stone treatment, creating visual continuity between the bathing zone, floor and marble-clad architecture.
A deep charcoal wall panel beside the bathtub provides strong contrast and creates a gallery-like backdrop for monochrome artwork and indoor planting. The white orchid introduces a biophilic element and softens the harder stone and metal finishes.
Large-format marble-effect flooring continues throughout the bathroom, visually connecting the different functional areas. A large abstract textured rug and sculptural upholstered ottoman introduce an unusual residential layer, giving the master bathroom the feeling of a private dressing lounge and spa rather than a purely functional wet area.
The ceiling incorporates discreet recessed downlights and carefully integrated linear HVAC grilles, maintaining the clean architectural composition while accommodating the required mechanical services.

The questions Palm Jumeirah owners ask us most before they start.
Trakhees — the regulatory arm of Ports, Customs & Free Zone Corporation — governs construction approvals on the Palm, alongside Nakheel or building-management NOCs depending on the property. It is a different route from Dubai Municipality, with its own drawing formats and inspections. Halo manages the full submission as part of the renovation scope.
Palm Jumeirah renovations are luxury-specification projects. As indicative planning ranges: a substantial Garden Homes interior renovation typically starts around AED 800,000, and full Signature Villa transformations with structural works, pools and terraces commonly run into several million dirhams. Scope, specification and the condition of the original structure drive the number, so we price from a detailed site survey, never from the villa type alone.
The island is a reclaimed, beachfront environment: salt air, high humidity and direct marine exposure degrade standard roofing, terrace and façade systems years earlier than inland. Any renovation that opens the envelope — extensions, terraces, pools — should re-engineer waterproofing at the same time. Halo’s Shield programme specifies marine-appropriate systems with warranties.
Yes. Trunk apartment renovations are regular work — kitchens, bathrooms, flooring and full joinery packages, delivered around building management NOCs, service-lift bookings and permitted working hours. Most Shoreline projects complete within 6–10 weeks on site.
Usually yes. Structural openings, extended kitchens and reconfigured first floors are all achievable with the right engineering and Trakhees approval. We survey the original structure first, design the modification around it, and submit stamped engineering drawings — so the approved design is the one that gets built.

Palm Jumeirah falls under Trakhees (PCFC), not Dubai Municipality — a different submission format, different inspections, different documentation. We submit as a licensed contractor who has been through the process.
Salt air, humidity and beachfront exposure decide material selection here. We specify waterproofing, external finishes and ventilation for the island, not for a generic Dubai villa.
Signature-level joinery, stone and specialist finishes are produced and controlled in-house, so the finish quality the address demands does not depend on a subcontractor’s queue.
